Business Services and Solutions

Business problems and their solutions come in as many different sizes and shapes as the businesses that they affect. There are some issues, however, that every business faces. Whatever your business concerns, I can help you make your way through them.

If you are starting a business, I can help you select the proper organizational structure.  I can help you secure adequate financing, whether you are just starting up or already operating, and in different stages of your business. I can work with you and your banker, attorney, insurance agent, and other advisors to solve your business problems.

I can assist you with loan applications, pricing, credit policies, cash flow concerns, cost controls, and other management issues. I can assist you in reviewing your operations to see what you might do to be more profitable.

What makes a business successful?

The business world is constantly changing.  The astute business person needs to be on top of these changes and be ready to adapt on short notice when conditions change.  This can be financial, social, or political.  All of these issues affect a business entity.

Here are some ideas that could improve your profits:

  • Do your homework.

Before you start a new business, be sure there is a demand for the type of business you are starting. You will need to ensure there is a demand for this type of business.

  • Review all business proposals carefully.

If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. You need to carefully review the terms and conditions of any of any contracts. I can assist in reviewing any proposal.

  • Seek out qualified professionals.

Accountants, attorneys, bankers, and insurance agents can help you review any plans, financing arrangements or contracts you might be considering.

  • Determine the best form of organization for your business.

There are a number of different forms for operating a business. The best form for operating your business is dependent on many factors, and is specific to your business and to you.

  • Listen to your customers.

Your customers are your business. Satisfied customers return to spend more money and are likely to refer new customers to you.

  • Work hard to keep the customers you have.

It costs much less to service the customers you currently have than to spend the time and effort to find new customers. Also, a satisfied customer will be more likely to refer new customers.

  • Don't make yourself indispensable.

Anything can happen to anyone at any time. You should always have a back-up plan so that your business will run well without you, whether temporarily (think a long vacation or the unfortunate occurrence of injury) or permanently (retirement or death).

  • Plan for your eventual departure.

Whether you want to pass the business down to the next generation, sell it to trusted employees, or sell it outright, a plan will help in the transition.
